Getting to Know Ethereum

Sitting second in the top cryptocurrency ranks, Ethereum certainly an interesting crypto that deserved some more introduction. Getting its official launch in 2015, this follow up to Bitcoin is also an open source and public system, but unlike its predecessor, ETH was being set up as more of a block chained based computing platform and also operating system that offers scripting functionality.

The idea for creating this crypto arrived from Vitalik Buterin, a researcher of cryptocurrency who was also involved in Bitcoin magazine. At first his view was to propose the need of scripting language for .BTC’s application development, but no agreement was ever reached, so that plan was never materialized.

Not giving up hope of his idea being turn into reality, Butalik eventually teaming up with several people, such as Gavin Wood, Joseph Lubin, Charles Hoskinson, Anthony Di Iorio, Mihai Alisie, & Amir Chetr to create Ethereum. The crypto was first announced to public in January 2014 during an international Bitcoin conference, which was held at Miami.

The token being used as Ethereum’s operational means is called Ether, which basically just the short naming of the initial crypto. There certainly some major differences between ETH and Bitcoin, such as a much shorter block time (14 to 15 seconds), Using Ethas algorithm that can reduce the advantage of specializing IC, etc.

Despite being the second seated crypto, Ethereum’s market price is actually quite behind to BTC. According to the latest rank via Cointelegraph, it can be discovered that ETH’s current price is only at $168. That’s certainly not that much, but still quite well known .
